Welcome to My World: A Journey of Dreams and Determination Hey there, new friend. My name is Shelli, and this space—Sacred Smoke & Soulwork—was born from one of the hardest seasons of my life. I started this blog during a time of deep pain and spiraling chaos. My marriage was falling apart. My mental health had hit rock bottom. I felt alone, unheard, and exhausted. After a moment of suicidal ideation, I was taken to the hospital by the Sheriff’s Department. What followed was a 12-hour wait in silence, confusion, and isolation—then a transfer to a mental health facility that opened my eyes to the real state of mental health care in New Mexico. That experience broke me… but it also woke me up. I saw people with no advocates. I saw people falling through the cracks because they lacked clarity, support, or a voice.
